Sadie

The other day we were riding in the car and Chris decided to give sadie some gum. She chewed the gum and when she was done she spit the gum out instead of swallowing it! I recorded it.

GRADUATION!!!!!!!!!!!

We went out to dinner after graduation... Thanks for all your support!

Funny story... My Aunt and Uncle gave us a card and then my Grandparents gave us a card and they were the same card! Therefore we ended up with 4 of the same cards...it was so funny.

I graduated from UAB with my B.S. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education! My sister also graduated.

Sadie Baby, Sadie Girl

Sadie is the newest edition to our family. She is a boxer and about 12 weeks old! Chris was wanting a dog and some guy was saling boxers outside of Regions bank. Well he wanted to give this one away because she was the runt and he thought that no one would buy her... I would have paid money for her. She is the sweetest dog ever. She loves to cuddle and sleeps a lot. She is teaching me a lot before this baby comes too.
P.S. Allison Sorry it took so long to get on this thing but I am back!

Oh My Goodness!

I was sitting in the house working on some of my student teaching things when I heard my mom call for me. She needed me to get her a towel for the dog. I went outside and I saw something crawl around a corner. I looked around the corner and didn't see anything so I decided to look behind the water gutter on the house. When I did I saw a lizard, that kind of looked like a snake. It was a blue tail lizard, but I did some research on it and it is really a blue tail skink. Here is what it looked like...

Well after I freaked out about the lizard which was not that scary. I saw a spider that freaked me out! The picture is below so that you can see it. I screamed and told mom to get something to kill it. She sprayed it with insect killer but it just started moving toward her. I screamed again and ran backwards. So mom called the bug man and she told him about it. He said that she needed to get some windex and spray it with that, but they are very aggressive so be careful. Mom started spraying it and it jumped off the window towards her and once again i screamed. Mom grabbed a shovel and started smacking the crap out of it! It was on the ground so it was blending in and we could not find it. Then mom found it killed it and shoveled it up. She then took it out to the drive way to make sure it was dead. Mom asked me to go get a jar. I couldn't find one so I got a tupperware bowl for her. So the spider is dead... Luckily I video recorded so you can watch it. I thought it might have been mom's last day if the spider really jumped towards her.

This is the spider dead in the tupperware bowl! Thank God!

Here is the video, I am sure you will get a good laugh out of it because I know that we did!

Long day...

School has begun! Today was the first day of school here at UAB and it was extremely busy in our office! Tomorrow is my last day of work because I begin student teaching soon. I think they are trying to pile on the work load right before I leave. As you can see in the picture I had a ton of things to do today. Chika just kept handing me things to do so I actually had to make a "to do" list! Not that I am complaining because having something to do all day makes the day go by a lot faster. I am very sad to be leaving this job. I really enjoyed working in this office and department. The people are great to work with and there are always smiling faces. I am going to miss all the juicy gossip and all the great times and laughs we have enjoyed together. But no worries I will be by to visit and catch up when I can.

Nice?

What happened to the Golden Rule? What happened to if you can not say anything nice do not say anything at all? What happened to people being polite and respectful? What happened to the word nice?

It seems as if people have forgotten the word nice. Well, in case you forgot the word nice means virtuous, respectable, and decorous. Maybe you should try it.

There are a couple of reasons why I am writing about the word nice. The other day my family and I headed up to Oxford to do a little shopping. I noticed that people were a lot nicer up there. I believe it is because life up there is more laid back and they are not always in a hurry to get somewhere. The city can be very stressful and make people mean. The next thing that brought this to my attention was when I was at the hospital. Chris got hurt and he had to go to the emergency room, so I met him there. He could barely walk and hold himself up so we got him a wheel chair so it would be easier on him. While we were sitting in the waiting room a nurse came up to him and asked if she could get the wheel chair from him. I looked at her and said he can barley move and hold himself up, so no. Then she went to another lady that was in a wheel chair about to pass out and asked her for her wheel chair. I know that there is not only 2 wheel chairs in the hospital. Come to find out all she had to do was walk through the sliding glass doors to get a wheel chair. The last thing that brought this to my attention is when I opened my blog today. In the last post that I wrote, I wrote about the word PERFECT. Well I noticed there was a comment made on it so I looked at it. When I looked at it I did not recognize the name, and I still have no idea who the person is. But what he wrote is very rude. This is where the if you have nothing nice to say do not say anything at all. Obviously he was not taught that as a child. This guy does not know a thing about me except what he can read on here so he has no right to be rude.

The point is I think people need to learn the word nice again and put it into practice. I promise it is not a bad thing to be nice. Actually, I think being nice can take you a lot further in life. It is also a lot more rewarding than anything else! Just think about it.
